Most dentists, including ours, recommend that everyone attend a routine checkup and cleaning every six months to keep their teeth and gums healthy. During these quick, easy visits, we’ll look over your mouth and let you know if we spot anything concerning. From there, we can treat it right away before it has a chance to progress and require more extensive treatment later on. We’ll also remove plaque and tartar deposits from your mouth and give your teeth a nice polish so that you leave our dental office with a smile that looks and feels fresh.

Children’s Dentistry

Children’s smiles are constantly changing as they grow, and as such, their dental needs are also evolving. Our team provides many services aimed at encouraging kids’ smiles to develop properly, and we do so in ways that are just as fun as they are educational. Oral Cancer Screenings

As part of your routine exam, our dentists will take a few minutes to thoroughly screen your mouth for any warning signs of oral cancer, such as abnormal lumps or sores that won’t heal. Oral cancer has a higher mortality rate than many other types of cancer, as the disease often isn’t caught until the advanced stages. However, our dentists are trained to detect even the smallest symptoms and advise you on what steps to take next if they find anything that could indicate oral cancer. This gives our patients a greater chance of a successful recovery.

Fluoride Treatments

After your dental cleaning, our team can swiftly paint a concentrated fluoride varnish onto your teeth. Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral with the remarkable ability to strengthen enamel – the outermost layer of the teeth – and decrease the chance that cavities will develop. Most people are exposed to fluoride through the foods they eat, their tap water, and their toothpaste, but professional fluoride treatments can give an extra boost of protection.

Dental Sealants

Over time, the deep pits and grooves on the chewing surfaces of your molars (back teeth) can harbor foods debris and bacteria, putting them at a higher risk of decay. To protect these teeth, we can paint a thin layer of clear plastic – called dental sealants – over the biting surfaces, creating a barrier that can last for up to a decade. While we normally recommend sealants for younger patients who may have difficulty brushing their molars, we can use them to help adult patients as well!

Athletic Mouthguards/ Sportsguards

Whether you like to toss the old pigskin around with friends or your child is a future sports star, it’s essential to wear an athletic mouthguard. Otherwise, you run the risk of a smile injury that could have been prevented. We can give you one of these trays that has been customized to fit perfectly over the teeth, making them more comfortable and effective than the cheap, flimsy options found at the store.

Nightguards for Bruxism

Do you often wake up with dull headaches, tooth sensitivity, or jaw soreness? These signs all point to bruxism – chronic nighttime teeth clenching and grinding. The pressure from untreated bruxism can lead to worn-down teeth and problems with your jaw joints, but we can provide personalized nightguards to relieve this pressure. These trays create cushioning between your upper and lower arches, shielding your smile from the harmful effects of bruxism.
